Spinal stenosis is a degenerative condition which causes a narrowing of the spine canal itself and around the nerves which exit the canal. This condition usually increases with age. Some individuals develop spinal stenosis earlier than others and to different degrees of severity. Options recommended will depend on the severity but can include complementary alternative modalities such as yoga, acupuncture, and tai chi. Sometimes anti-inflammatory supplements or pain medications are recommended. Injections such as epidurals, facet blocks, medial branch blocks, or radiofrequency ablation can be performed. Various procedures are available as indicated on our Treatments page.
