We treat Plantar fasciitis, which is a condition caused by inflammation of the tough band of tissue that runs from the ball of the foot to the heel bone. It generally occurs from overuse (running, jumping) or poor footwear, which may cause overstretching of the tissue. Treatment is usually conservative, but resolution of pain may take months depending on severity. Physical therapy, night splints, gel heel cups, topical compound medications, or acupuncture are some of the treatment options. If there is still no improvement, sometimes injections may help or you may be referred to a foot specialist or other surgical options.
